November 2010 Global Church Newsletter Pastors Alan, Mary and Angela returned from their recent trip to Sri Lanka after conducting the annual women’s conference in 4 churches. We started off from Colombo and travelled 250kms north east to Trincomoli. A 3 hour drive for us in Australia , took 7 hours due to the heavy traffic. We were warmly greeted by Pastors Aatheepan and Suja and a delicious meal. We thank them for their love, kindness and hospitality. Our first conference was held in Grace Gospel Church (Eastgate Church, Trincomoli). From Trinco we headed further South to Vallaichenai. Most of the roads were destroyed during the war which lasted 27 years and officially ended April, 2009 however, Sri Lanka is currently undertaking a massive re-building programme to restore their roads and infrastructure. At Vallaichenai we were hosted by Pastor Isaiah who has a beautiful church building. There were about 400 people present and the praise and worship was amazing. Our next destination was Batticaloa with Pastors Gnanadas and Manjula at Christ’s Mission (Eastgate Church, Batticaloa). Once again, we were lovingly cared for. We returned to Colombo and travelled South Eastto Balangoda, up in the mountains. This is tea plantation country. It was much cooler and the scenery breathtaking. We finished the conference circuit there. On the Sunday we visited Jehovah Nissi Gospel Ministry (Eastgate Church, Balangoda) with Pastors Rita, Sathiyaseeelan and Jayabharadi. Once again we were blessed by these wonderful Christian brothers and sisters. Thank you Rita, Sathiya and Bharadi for your love towards us and to all our pastors for arranging everything so well. A big thank you to Pastors Inpanathan and Glory, our Overseers, for all your hard work. We love and appreciate you very much. Our message was to teach women that their Heavenly Father loves them and has a plan and a purpose for their lives. They are not an afterthought or accident. They are not second class citizens but were created in the image of God and that Eve was given dominion and authority along with Adam. Although this was lost after they sinned, through Jesus Christ, this dominion and authority has been returned to them. In a country where male dominance is the norm, this message was eagerly embraced by the women and a passion is growing to seek God for His plan and purpose for their lives and to begin to walk in it. Glory and Inpanathan purchased a double bed and mattress, a single bed and mattress and 2 metal cupboards from the Eastgate Church Family gift and thank everyone sincerely. They have settled into their new house which is in a high crime rate area of Colombo and believe this is where the Lord is calling them to commence a Home Church in the near future. The house is 3 storeys high and has 3 large living areas. We will be taking up another love offering so that they can buy a lounge suite to sit on before our next trip which is on the 27th December. This time we will also be going to India as well as Sri Lanka. Our monthly commitments to overseas missions are:
We could not go without your prayers and support. Everything we do you are a part of and we thank you for being our faithful partners. You will be blessed.
Blessings
