EastGate Youth End of Year 2011

The year at EastGate Youth is now finished, and we have had another great year at youth group-our eight year! Thanks for being part of youth group in 2011- the place wouldn't be the same without you!

2011 Highlights- It's been great to see some new faces join us this year and also great to see regulars come back every week! Some highlights this year include going to having a combined Pool Party with DIGIT Youth group, going to the beach at Sorrento Quay, seeing everyone get up and sing at our Open Mic Night, going Rock Climbing, meeting up with other youth groups for Explosion and Adrenaline, swimming at the lake in Gidge and having some great dinner nights, not to mention our huge Christmas feast a few weeks ago!

We have also seen more talented musicians join the band and play each week, expressing faith and our journey through music. We have had some great times each week also at our "normal" nights, forming great friendships with awesome people, and most importantly seeing lives transformed by God's love, and everyone's faith equipped to impact this world.

Reaching out- this year we have also done some great things to reach out to those in need. We raised over $60 dressing up in our footy colours to raise money for young people with cancer, we saw over 80 boxes filled with gifts packed up and sent to children overseas for Christmas (thanks to EHSHS, Eastgate Church and our amazing Claire), and also in November we decided to raise at least $15 a month to support a family in India. We hope to see more reaching out next year, spreading our message of a future and a hope to those in need.

Thanks- to the Shire of Mundaring who have gave us a grant to purchase a new bass amp!  You may have seen it being used at youth group!  If you want to test it out come along to band practice when it starts up again in Jan.  If you would like to learn bass speak to myself or Kaleb.

EGY Annual- Sam Martin has been busy putting together an Annual for 2011, and will be out early next year. If you have an article or photo's you would like to submit for it, let me know.

Christmas Service, Eastgate Church- You and your family are invited to celebrate Christmas with us at our church Christmas service on Christmas Eve. Saturday 24th December, 6.30pm, @ Eastgate.
