Term 4 EGY NewsHi there! Just a quick letter to keep you up to date with EGY!
Battle of the bands On Friday 8th October the EGY Band took part in the Seen and Heard Battle of the bands at Harry Riseborough Oval in Mundaring. It was the first time the new line up for the EGY band played together in public (besides at youth group), and they did a great job, sounding really good. We personally think they were the best band there (we know we are probably biased!), and definitely the highlight of the day. Well done to Kaleb, Chris, Brendon and Ariella- hope to see more soon!
Operation Christmas Child Over the past few months we have been collecting items for Operation Christmas Child, and on the 8th October we put the items into shoe boxes to give as gifts for underprivileged children overseas, spreading our message of a future and a hope around the world. The total number of boxes we ended up with was 62 boxes! Well done to everyone for all your donations and hard work in putting together all the boxes. A special mention goes to Phil Wicks for putting together the most boxes on the night! A big thanks to Claire for coordinating this, and also to the students at Eastern Hills Senior High School for all their donations!
EGY On-line EGY is now on-line with our own website and facebook page. Check out our website at eastgate.org.au and click on the EGY logo to go to the youth page. The facebook page is also up and running so please add us if you are on facebook! Every week we will post what we will be doing at youth on the Friday, so check it out!
COMING EVENTS Friday 12th November- Dinner night @ EGY Join us for dinner. Something great is always on the menu on our dinner nights. Family and friends welcome.
Friday 10th December- End of year and Christmas party This will be the final youth group for 2010, so join us as we celebrate the great year we’ve had, with a BBQ dinner and a few surprises
EGY Camp 2011, Friday 21st January-Saturday 22nd January, Lake Leschenaultia Mark this date in your calendars, as this is going to be a great camp! More details later
