September 2011 Eastgate Church Newsletter
Hi everyone, welcome to our church newsletter for September! We have heaps of exiting things on as we are well and truly in the second half of the year!
Visiting ministry- A few weeks ago we were extremely blessed to have Pastors Ron and Justine Simms from Simply His ministries come and minister to us. They ministered to the council and leadership team on the Saturday, and ministered at our Sunday meeting also. We saw healing and miracles, as well as people being freed from pain, sickness and mindsets, and we were all strengthened in our faith. Praise God!
Overseas missions trip- Our Senior Ministers, Pastors Alan and Mary Bennett, are currently away on a missions trip, visiting, meeting with, and encouraging the churches in India and Sri Lanka, and going to Italy also. Please continue to pray for them as God works through them to see the churches and pastors loved and united, as well as encouraged and built up. Thanks so much for everyone's support as we lead the church here in Mt. Helena in their absence.
Mt. Helena Whim Festival- On the 23rd October Mt. Helena community is holding the Whim Festival, and Eastgate is going to join in the celebrations! We will be setting up a stand and the EGY band will be performing, and all are encouraged to help serve and reach out to the community.
Church Together- 23rd October (a busy day!) at 7pm at G.O Edwards Park in Burswood. Tony Campolo is the guest speaker and the Parachute Band will be performing, and many churches from around Perth will be there. Hope you can make it as we unite with churches in WA
Operation Christmas Child- We will be partnering with Eastern Hills Senior High School again this year to put together shoe boxes filled with gifts for underprivileged children overseas for Christmas. Items needed include toys, pens and notebooks, hygiene items, as well as $9 per box to send off. Please see Claire Kealley for more info. Donations are due in by the end of this month so the youth group can pack the boxes.
Carols in the Park- The much anticipated event of the year is nearly upon us too! Carols in the Park! Mark your diary for the evening of 10th December, at Mt. Helena Oval! The Eastgate Band are preparing for what we hope to be the best carols event yet!
Well that's it from us! See you in church!
God Blessya
Pastors Jared and Andrea
